- garden peas, snow peas
I’ve never managed to get more than a small handful of snow peas until this season. The bushes are ladened with promising flowers, and already have set and matured a small number of pea pods that taste beautiful.
Although I avoid growing vegies that take a lot of kitchen work to be served with a meal, this year Ive also tried some Garden Peas and to my surprise they have also flowered and set – although not as nice as snow peas and a little stringy too.
I think this success is linked to the copious amounts of lime Ive been dressing the peas with – a suggestion from the neighbours – and the occasional dose of blood and bone natural fertilizer.
There’s nothing nicer than to pick and eat direct from the garden!
